Apartment
PALAZZO CARMI
Where the ancient meets innovation
Italy - Parma
Located in one of the most prestigious buildings of Parma's historic centre, this apartment in Palazzo Carmi was born after an important renovation work. Architecture and interior design studio Blank created a dialogue between the neoclassical style of the building, designed by architect Paolo Gazola, and the client’s demand for contemporary looking environments.
Three materials are the protagonists and guiding thread of the entire project: the wood, that covers the floors, the cabinets, the bespoke furniture and the guard rail of the staircase, the Crema d'Orcia, marble interpreted in different textures and the plaster of La Calce del Brenta applied on all the walls of the house.
The apartment is developed on two levels: through the entrance door you access the upper floor and the reception room, where an imposing Marquina black marble dining table stands in the middle of the room. A splendid fireplace was restored and brought back to its former glory. Through a double door you enter the dining room, directly connected to the glass kitchen equipped with elegant retractable doors.
Leaving the living room, you access the corridor which leads you to the sleeping area composed of: the master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a second bedroom and two other bathrooms. In the master bedroom, two large oak quinte doors give access to the dressing room, while a second sliding door gives access to the private bathroom. The taps of the GIOTTO PLUS and GRADI collections and the bathrobe warmer of the EQUILIBRIO collection in stainless steel Bronze satin finish are in perfect dialogue with the Crema d’Orcia marble sink and bathtub.
The lower floor houses a study, dedicated bathrooms and a spa area with a large shower and a steam room. For these bathrooms, the GIOTTO PLUS collection in Black Diamond and Bronze satin finish has been chosen, which perfectly combines with the vertical texture of the "Bamboo" marble.
